MARBLE AND QUARTZ LOGISTICS
TIME REDUCTION AND WAREHOUSE OPTIMIZATION WITH STONE ID
The marble and granite industry (with the leading company Antolini Luigi & C. SpA) and quartz sector (with Stone Italiana SpA) were our first opportunity to study and solve industry-related problems through the use of custom-designed technological systems and software. This led to the creation of a fully dedicated brand, called Stone ID.
Huge quantities of slabs and blocks, high value of the materials, and massive warehouses: these factors, when combined, prevented the companies in this sector from organizing their work productively. Indeed, they led to errors and significant waste of time.
By adopting RFID technology and our systems, not only have we eliminated these errors, but also enabled to quickly and accurately locate any slab or block in the warehouse. Our system also allows to track the information, history, and processing of each item, from the raw material’s arrival at the company, through the countless processes, storage, and sale.

WHY RFID?
This system identifies individual process items (whether blocks or slabs) using labels specifically designed to achieve the best possible results, regardless of the severity of the environment: heat, cold, exposure to rain or sun, mud, dust, processing residues, etc…
Furthermore, an automatic reading system – virtually maintenance-free –applied to the production lines (for polishing, resin coating, etc.) allows tracking of each phase of the slab processing. This highlights possible wastes and tracks the change in state of the slabs (from sawn surface, to polished, resin-coated surface, etc…).
